John J. Hall, former reviewer, studied electrical engineering after high school and spent several years working in a completely different field, Quality Control. Once he realized his mistake, he actually started looking for work in the field that interested him, and finally became a prototype engineer for an Image Guided Surgical Instrument company in Colorado. He enjoys reading and collecting books, from medical references to Ohio criminal law, and is currently reading his first foray into fantasy, a collection of books by Raymond E. Feist.

Other hobbies include, but are not limited to, prop sword construction, Japanese robot model kits, reverse engineering appliances, graphic arts, and playing sword fighting games on his Playstation game console. Unmarried, and living sans roommate, John can usually be spotted running around the apartment at night with scissors while turning on all the lights and making hideous faces in the mirror.
