Seán Laffey, former reviewer, is the Director of Castlelake Consultancy, currently the Editor of Irish Music Magazine, and is also editor of the upcoming "Education Today," a second level careers magazine for the Irish Republic. Seán is a freelance writer for the Mountjoy Group (Milwaukee) and past Chair of the Cashel Cultural Festival. He is a member of the National Union of Journalists (Irish South Western Branch).
Seán's company, Castlelake Consultancy Ltd,. provides education & training, photography, journalism and editorial services to a range of clients. Over the past three years he has worked closely with The University of Glamorgan (Wales), Lacethorn Publishers (Dublin), The Buzz Magazine (Guinness - London), NRG Publishers (Dublin), Beaulouis Publishers (Dublin), FolkWorld (Germany), Freefolk.com (UK), Celtic News (Buenos Aires) and the Irish American Post (Milwaukee).
His CDROM photo gallery IMAGINE an IRELAND was exhibited at the Milwaukee Irish Fest 2002 and at the Cashel Heritage festival this past July. Sean has sung , recorded and played folk and maritime music with Jenkins Ear, Warp Four, Lusty and Strong and the Roaring Forties. Currently 3 children and three acres keep him away from perfuming on a regular basis, although he last sang at New York's South Street Museum in August 2002. His documentary maritime musical presentation "The Last Windjammer Boys" opened Hull's Sea Fever festival in 1999. His festival appearances include Brest, Douranenez, Paimpol, Cork Ford Regatta, Dublin Tall Ships, Aonoch Paddy O'Brien and Bristol 96.
