Now that all the feasting and merrymaking is winding down, we’ve got some nice reading lined up for you for those cold winter night still ahead.
Let’s start with an old favorite of ours here at GMR, Steven Brust, and his latest tale of Vlad Taltos, Tiassa. It’s about — well, a tiassa. Or maybe a Tiassa.
As long as we’re looking at series, we have the second installment in what looks like a good one, Lev Grossman’s The Magician King. Life goes on, even after a happy ending.
And the series go on, with the first two volumes in what looks to be a solid series, paranormal romance variety. Check out what our reviewer has to say about Ilona Andrews’ On the Edge and Bayou Moon.
And now for something completely different, and I mean completeely — Michael Swanwick’s Dancing With Bears, which takes place in a future Moscow that has to be experienced to be believed. (I mean, really — marauding robot wolves?)
And if that’s not weird enough, how about Diana Rowland’s My Life as a White Trash Zombie? Don’t believe me? Read the review.
OK — that should be enough to get you started, but hurry back — there’s more coming down the pipeline.
