A Midsummer Story

Our Summer Queen Story this summer comes from Jennifer Stevenson who never dreamed she would become Summer Queen someday. Let alone repeat six years later as she is doing.

She attended the University of Iowa and Southern Connecticut State University, studying music, English, and structural family theory. She rides horses and swims every day. She really does feed crows, and she regrets to confess that she has not eaten s’mores in thirty-five years.

She is the author of multiple works including Trash Sex Magic, a literary fantasy about trailer trash sex magicians, and some short stories, including ‘Solstice,’ ‘There Will Always Be Meat,’ ‘Something For Everyone,’ and ‘The Purge.’ ‘Solstice’ has been printed by us in a cool chapbook which is still available for purchase.

Our Summer Queen this year has a few words to say about her story this year:

This piece breaks silence on something my family has kept a secret for a long time.  Well, it’s probably not a secret.  But not spoken-of anyway.  I don’t know who’s left who will care.  But I wanted to have it said.  Because it’s nice to be able to say that you are where you belong.
